Wake up & smell the coffee

We help coffee shops to start up, tune up, and scale up using social media Andrew Bowen

I found this presentation particularly interesting; partly because I’m a regular customer of Café Java in Abingdon (my post-parkrun venue – a great example of social media marketing), and partly because coffee shops are in the ‘sweet spot’ when it comes to social media

Café Java is Andrew’s sole remaining outlet, having sold off the rest of his chain to concentrate upon his coffee shop consultancy business.

Background

On 21st April 2016, B4 hosted the 3rd Annual ‘Business in Oxford’ Event, at the Saïd Business School.

This is a summary from one of the 12-minute POD sessions that took place during the day.

3 Key Caffeine Takeaways

  • Tailor your message to your platform – don’t use the same post across different platforms; native posts receive a far better response, so don’t merely copy posts across.
  • Get familiar with Facebook pixels – download them onto your website, and they embed a line of code from Facebook which allow you to track who visits your website and to remarket to them accordingly.
  • Empower your teams to use social media – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram – this massively increases the impact, allowing you to fit the most relevant team members to the right social media channel.
