Project: Silk Art website
- Research Positioning document
- Content creation
- Editing & Delivery
Background
Silk Art specialises in selling hand-painted silk products online to a global audience – everything from installation-sized silk wall hangings to postcard-sized silk cards.
Challenges
- Urgent upgrade required: the previous website was basic with limited imagery and text − it didn’t embody the quality and exclusiveness of the silk products it featured.
- Create a story and a purpose: the owner – Faye Waddington – wanted to educate and convey her passion for silk, as well as telling the ‘story behind the product’ and creating an appropriate shop front.
- Working with a marketing agency: Nobleword had been instructed independently of a marketing agency (Vicky White Communications) who would be responsible for the website build and SEO.
Results
- Real-time research and adaptation
- The Research Positioning document put together by Nobleword at the outset of the project, identified the main competitors, key issues to address and a suggested structure for the website.
- This document provided a framework which could be referred back to and updated as the website project progressed; e.g. it soon became apparent that a separate FAQ page was needed to convey the required technical details and to keep rest of the website ‘clean’ and uncluttered.
- Constant team dialogue using Trello
- A Work Board was set up the marketing agency on Trello, with Work Cards for the Website Build, SEO, and Content to enable visibility and enhance coordination across the different disciplines.
- This meant that any issues were flagged and rectified in real-time, allowing the website build to evolve organically, thereby reassuring the client that all was on track.
